Admont Monastery Library
Admont Monastery Library is the biggest monastic library in the world and has the most beautiful library hall in baroque style worldwide. The library gives several art and cultural-historical examples of the development of books, from the manuscripts of the medieval Admont writing school over the collection of incunabula to the fully developed printing process. The whole stock of books consists of 200 000 volumes, and the biggest treasures are the 1 400 manuscripts and 530 incunabula.
A further cultural attraction is the Monastery Museum founded in 2003, laying a focus on contemporary arts and offering a manifold program to its visitors.
